Good morning to you Friends!
I thought to email my friends as we all need to pray for US, I literally weep with sorrow, grief and a broken heart at the plunge of this nation I have toured and loved so dearly (Heading back to Uganda next month), into its rapid deterioration and ultimate destruction. I am sure no one have idea the devastation that is ahead. Yet, on the other hand, I rejoice greatly at the signs of the times. The signs that signify the coming of our Savior and the harvest that shall be brought into God’s store-house before that terrible day. And there is no doubt in my mind, that, many of the proponents of the legalizing of same-sex marriage in this nation will in fact be included in the Lord’s last day harvest.
I have been thinking a lot and praying for all my American friends, Churches, and families based on the June 26, 2015, ruling by the Supreme Court legitimizes same-sex marriage in all 50 states and overturns all state laws to the contrary. (by then I was in Virginia, Lyndhurst). The five of the nine justices agreed that no difference exists between same-sex marriage and the traditionally held union of a man and woman. Based on their interpretation of the Fourteenth Amendment, they declared that no legal impediment should stand in the way of any couple who wishes to marry.
In a clarifying statement at the conclusion of the written opinion, Justice Anthony M. Kennedy made it clear that the ruling did not forbid churches from continuing to oppose the idea of homosexual marriage.
We Christians and the Church of Christ we need to keep standing with fellow Christians who understand that God intended marriage to be between a man and woman, as explained in Genesis and confirmed by Jesus, when He declared that the Creator has “made them male and female,” and that “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” Our church joined in the Supreme Court case by means of an Amicus brief requesting consideration for this millennia-old view of marriage propounded by Scripture.
I urge my friends, Children’s Pastors, and any person as the Lord has called you to serve him where He has placed you to continue to hold high the biblical standard for godly marriage. A legal definition of marriage may have changed, but the orthodox understanding based on God’s revelation has not changed. We call upon men and women to demonstrate to a confused world the fulfillment that results when they covenant in marriage to practice faithful and sacrificial love. On this, I recommend that each True Christian adopt the following personal statement that echoes the official church action:
I am a minister of the gospel, trying to rescue orphans and vulnerable children though not credentialed by the Church (in Uganda). It is the long-established biblical belief and polity of the, which belief and polity I adhere to, that marriage is a spiritual union in which a man and woman are joined by God to live together as one.
Based on my personal religious beliefs and the beliefs and polity of a Church, I can’t perform same-sex marriages. I base this refusal on my guarantee of religious freedom, and on any and all exemptions granted to me under Federal and State laws. This refusal shall extend to my Ministry’s refusal to allow its Orphans to be used for same-sex marriages or any celebration relating to same-sex unions.
The Christian Church has understood during most of it’s existence that it is part of a kingdom that is not of this world. It has faced much hostility and endured much suffering, but it remains steadfast and victorious. We believe that despite the best efforts of anti-christian forces, it will ultimately triumph.
1. Should Christians stand up themselves?
2. How are we going to use our very important God’ senses to us of; hearing, listening, touching, feeling, and tasting before God in this moment.
3. If God can open the windows of heaventoday and asked you “What is your desires today?”, would you be willing to open your heart to HIM, If so, what would those desires be that you would tell Him“
Well, I hope that we all remain friends, hold Christ’ flag. And since am a Non-American Coldsters – I would like to raise a glass for US today since I know that I have been welcomed at the US table. Happy, Happy Birthday, America. I love you with unabashed sentiment.
Let us pray for one another and remember that If there are two persons praying, there are three. If three meet to pray, there are four praying. There is always one more than you can see, so whether you know it or not, somebody is praying for you.
You and your family are in my prayers. Love you much and much more in Christ- www.samuelskids.org
